Restaurants
We have recently discovered Le Clos aux Roses in Chedigny. Chedigny is “the rose village” and holds an annual rose festival but all through the summer the streets are lined with roses (have a look at the “what we have seen” page). The restaurant is relatively new and serves well prepared food in a modern but low key interior.La Roseraie in Chenonceaux is one of our favourite addresses: good food and very friendly service. During the summer it's possible to eat outside in their courtyard - if you book early enough!
Le Cheval Blanc in Bléré. I once stayed in the hotel which was delightful - I had a light airy room which made me think of spring! The hotel and restaurant has since changed hands - so I need to revisit it and find out whether it is still as good as it was!
La Presbytère, 1 Rue Thomas Pactius, Loches, was recommended by some of our visitors in 2010, apparently you can sit outside with a lovely view of the surroundings. I can’t find a web site for it but the ‘phone number is +33 247 596 525.
In the early days (we’ve been in Lavignon around 20 years!) Agnes Sorel in Genillé was a favourite. We need to revisit it to make sure it’s as good as it was.
Château de Pray, Route De Charge, Amboise
Auberge de la Treille, 2 Rue D’Amboise, Saint Martin-Le-Beau
Le Bon Laboureur, 6 Rue du Dr. Bretonneau, Chenonceaux
La Sarrazine, 21 Rue Du Pont, Bléré
Le Boeuf Coronne, 11 Rue Paul-Louis-Courier, Bléré
Hostellerie de la Renaudiere, 24 Rue du Dr. Bretonneau, Chenonceaux
Le Cheval Rouge, 30 Rue Nationale, Chisseaux
Le Saint Honore, 10 Place P.L.-Courier, Veretz - this looks really good: we have been driving past it (to and from Tours) for many years and it’s high time we stopped and tried it!
If you want to go in search of other restaurants, then you might be able to find some ideas on L’Internaute, or Cuisine Française, or the Chenonceaux - Bléré Tourist Office site.
